Background information on the Parish

Astley Abbotts is a small parish on the outskirts of Bridgnorth. The Parish has several small communities; Astley Abbotts, Cross Lane Head, Colemore Green, Cantreyn, Linley Brook, Nordley and Nordley Common.

There is a Church, St Claxitus in Astley Abbotts and a village hall in Cross Lane Head. There is not a shop, post office or school in the Parish.

The B4373 Bridgnorth to Broseley Road goes through the centre of the Parish. There is a network of Bridleways and footpaths criss-crossing the farmland in the Parish.
The community’s economy is dominated by agriculture with a number of farms varying in size. There is a fishing pool complex at Colemore Green. Some residents run businesses from home.

There is no social housing in the Parish. However, there are a number of private landlord rented properties.

The Parish Covers 13 square kilometers and has a population of 420.
